RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – Nov. 21, 2019 – With the recent success of the Zaloni Data Platform (ZDP) 5.1 release, Zaloni, the leader in multi-cloud data management, today announced it is entering into an accelerated growth phase to continue to deliver new leading-edge features to a rapidly growing client base and build a premier feature set for Zaloni’s 5.2 platform release. To support this strategy, Ben Sharma, Zaloni’s co-founder and longtime CEO, will transition to the role of Chief Product Officer. Susan Payne Cook, former Oracle and IBM executive, has joined Zaloni as the new Chief Executive Officer.
“Susan Cook brings deep expertise in the data and analytics space, and we’re thrilled that she’ll be leading Zaloni’s next-generation effort across sales, marketing and customer success,” said Sharma. “I’m excited to be able to focus on heading up product and engineering and partner with Susan as Zaloni enters into an unprecedented new phase of product-led growth. We are at an inflection point today with the increased use of public cloud and the data sprawl that is being created in enterprises, ZDP is leading the way to meet critical challenges to leverage data effectively for business impact with our approach of augmented data management.”
Cook has worked in various roles in data and analytics for more than 20 years, most recently as Executive Vice President of North American Sales at MicroStrategy. Past experience also includes senior leadership roles in IBM Business Analytics and Oracle Business Intelligence, as well as years of experience in sales, strategy and consulting in enterprise software.
“I believe that large enterprises can always be smarter in how they leverage data, which is why I’m excited to join Zaloni, an innovative company with a vision toward helping the most sophisticated global enterprises govern, manage and provision their vast amount of data like the valuable asset it is,” said Cook. “I truly like and respect the people at Zaloni, including the Board and leadership team, and feel absolutely aligned with Ben in our belief in Zaloni’s growth potential.”
Mark Fernandes, managing director of Sierra Ventures, a key Zaloni investor, stated: “The combination of Susan’s sales and leadership expertise with Ben’s product vision and drive creates a powerful team; Zaloni is well-positioned to lead the market with self-service catalog and governance solutions, ideal for companies that want to successfully accelerate data value.”
With this new leadership team structure, Zaloni plans to release the premier feature set for ZDP 5.2 in January of 2020.
