The Partnership
Pilgrim Software was led by a management team with deep domain expertise and successfully built a rapidly growing, profitable company with no outside capital. Topmark was attracted by the company’s blue-chip customer base and favorable regulatory mandates that drove increased demand for the company’s software solutions. Topmark played an active and collaborative role as an adviser to management in establishing a board, the recruitment of key board members and actively participated in the hiring of a CFO and other key middle management employees. Additionally, Topmark played an active role in identifying and hiring an investment banker to sell the company.
Topmark invested in Pilgrim Software through a legacy fund. Pilgrim Software redeemed Topmark’s shares in 2008. The company was later acquired by Riverside Partners in 2011.
